Robert M. Kertzner, M.D., former Training Director of the NIMH supported Behavioral Sciences Research in HIV Infection Training Program, is Adjunct Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University and Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, UCSF. Dr. Kertzner has conducted research on the psychosocial impact of the HIV epidemic and the psychoneuroimmunological aspects of HIV infection on seropositive adults. Most recently, he has conducted research on adult development, sexuality, and psychological well-being, particularly in sexual minority persons. He is an Associate Member of the International Academy of Sex Research, Book Review Editor of the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Mental Health, and Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
